Challenge: Engage a social community of mommy bloggers.
Solution: Rockfish Interactive worked closely with
Walmart to design and build Elevenmoms.com.
Details: Gathering some of the most prominent
money saving mom bloggers on the Internet, Walmart created the Elevenmoms
community, an online forum for moms to connect and share money saving
tips and ideas. Utilizing videos, polls and a feed from Twitter, the
money saving community provides a way for Walmart shoppers to interact
like never before.
Adding to the Walmart.com community of shoppers, the Elevenmoms
community is led by mom bloggers from across the nation and incorporates
elements from prominent social media sites like Twitter and YouTube.
The community allows users to interact with the site by reading the
profiles of the lead bloggers, follow a live Twitter feed of tips and
advice, and submit their own money-saving tips for inclusion on the site.
New features to the community are continually being added for increased
interactivity with the site.
In addition to the social media aspects of the site, visitors can
also utilize money saving and budgeting calculators to see how much
money they could save with a more fuel efficient car or by bringing
their lunch rather than eating out at a local restaurant or picking
up fast food on their lunch hour.
Rockfish Interactive was asked to build and manage the site, engage
the social community, and partner with suppliers to create leading
brand experiences online.
The program and website has received national attention from
prominent and local news outlets, including the Washington Post.
To further spread the word about the site, the URL,
www.walmart.com/elevenmoms, was featured
on each Walmart receipt printed nation-wide, inviting moms
(and dads) to share their tips on how to save money and live better.
